Real Madrid: Injuries to Courtois and Rodrygo Ahead of Clasico

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Brazilian forward Rodrygo are both doubtful for the upcoming Clasico against FC Barcelona on Saturday due to injuries sustained during Tuesday’s Champions League match against Dortmund, which ended in a 5-2 victory for Madrid.

According to a club announcement released on Wednesday, Courtois is suffering from a left adductor injury; however, the statement did not specify the expected duration of his absence. Spanish media reports indicate that he is already ruled out for the Clasico and could be sidelined for ten to fifteen days.

Courtois, widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, had previously missed two matches at the beginning of October—against Lille and Villarreal—due to a similar ailment. His absence for the highly anticipated clash between the two Spanish giants presents a significant challenge for Real Madrid, which has relied heavily on Courtois’s key saves in crucial fixtures.

Rodrygo, who was substituted late in the match against Dortmund due to an injury, also remains uncertain for the upcoming encounter. Although Real Madrid has yet to issue an official statement regarding his condition, coach Carlo Ancelotti mentioned a “muscle injury” after the game but did not provide additional details.
