Putin Highlights Progress in Russia-Syria Ties During Meeting with Syrian President

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction at hosting Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa at the Kremlin, emphasizing the steady development of bilateral relations and renewed momentum in economic cooperation. The meeting underscored Russia’s commitment to supporting Syria’s reconstruction and strengthening partnership.

Putin noted that much has already been achieved in advancing Russia–Syria relations and highlighted that economic cooperation, which had previously stalled, is now showing noticeable progress that should be maintained. He credited al-Sharaa’s efforts for the positive trajectory of bilateral ties.

The Russian president also affirmed that representatives of Russia’s construction sector are ready to engage in joint projects to aid Syria’s reconstruction, signaling a practical step forward in the partnership between the two countries.
