President Tebboune : Confronting Extremist Attempts to Obliterate Our Memory and Embrace a Future Free from Colonial Complexes

On the 63rd anniversary of National Emigration Day, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune emphasized the need to confront “certain extremist circles [that] are trying to falsify or relegate this memory to oblivion.” His remarks call for a “new breath of courage and integrity” to overcome the colonial past and ensure a future free from hate.

This anniversary commemorates the struggles of Algerians abroad, particularly those in France, who supported the Glorious Liberation Revolution. The haunting images in Paris from this period serve as a testament to the hatred and violence faced by the Algerian people, uniting all in the fight for liberation.

Tebboune extended heartfelt greetings to the Algerian diaspora, reaffirming the government’s commitment to defend their rights and create optimal conditions for their integration into national recovery efforts. He emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of right and fairness regarding the nation’s memory, reinforcing the resolve to confront historical complexities.
