Palestinian Ex-Football Star Suleiman Al-Obeid Killed by Zionist Forces Gunfire

The Palestinian Football Association has announced that former football star Suleiman Al-Obeid was killed by gunfire from the occupying forces while distributing aid in the southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
Al-Obeid, who hailed from Gaza City, was 41 years old, married, and a father of five, according to the association.
“The former national player and star of Khadamat Al-Shati, Suleiman Al-Obeid, fell as a martyr due to fire from the Zionist occupation forces targeting individuals waiting for humanitarian assistance in southern Gaza on Wednesday,” the association stated on its website.
Nicknamed “The Gazelle,” “The Black Pearl,” or “The Pelé of Palestinian Football,” he began his career with his local club, Khadamat Al-Shati. His impressive skills and speed on the field earned him a spot on the national team, where he played in 24 international matches.
With over 100 goals scored throughout his lengthy career, he was recognized as a star of Palestinian football. According to the association, his death raises the toll of football association members—including players, coaches, referees, administrators, and board members—killed in the ongoing Zionist aggression since October 7, 2023, to 321.
Zionist assaults have resulted in the deaths of 61,258 individuals in the Gaza Strip, mostly civilians, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
