New Putin-Trump Call Expected Soon, Kremlin Says; Russia Agrees Peace in Ukraine “Much Closer”

The Kremlin announced that a new phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump is expected to take place in the very near future. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia agrees with Trump’s assessment that peace in Ukraine has moved significantly closer.

Peskov clarified that during their recent conversation, Putin and Trump did not discuss a truce for January 7. He also noted that there are currently no plans for a phone call between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
