Netflix resumes service after six-hour outage following Tyson vs. Paul bout

Video streaming platform Netflix (NFLX.O) was back up on Saturday after a six-hour outage in the United States, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

Downdetector, which collates status reports from a number of sources, showed that there were fewer than 100 user reports of problems accessing Netflix as of 5 a.m. ET (1000 GMT).

At the peak of the outage, which began on Friday, over 90,000 issues were reported, coinciding with a highly anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which Paul won.

The platform has experienced similar outages during live or highly anticipated events in the past, with spikes in user traffic often contributing.
