NATO Frigate Docks at Algiers Port Ahead of “PASSEX” Exercise

The Algerian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday the docking of the Romanian frigate REGINA MARIA, affiliated with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), at the Port of Algiers, as part of bilateral military cooperation with the organization.

In a statement, the Algerian Ministry of Defense said that the stopover of the Romanian frigate will last until the 1st of October.

“During this stop, a “PASSEX”-type exercise will be carried out, which will allow for the exchange of expertise and the strengthening of cooperation between the navies of the two countries, as well as the organization of several cultural and sports activities for the frigate’s crew,” the statement said.
