Ivory Coast Sets Record Cocoa Price at 2,800 CFA Per Kilo

Ivory Coast, the world’s top cocoa producer, has set a record farmgate price of 2,800 CFA francs ($4.26/€4.26) per kilo for the 2025-2026 main harvest, President Alassane Ouattara announced Wednesday.

The price, up from 2,200 CFA during the mid-crop in April, comes amid high global cocoa prices. Unlike liberalized markets such as Cameroon, Ivory Coast sells its beans in advance and fixes the purchase price through the state.

Ouattara also announced a coffee price of 1,700 CFA ($2.59/€2.59) per kilo.

On international markets, cocoa futures for December delivery stood at £4,872 in London and $6,921 in New York last Friday.

Cocoa accounts for around 40% of global supply and 14% of GDP in Ivory Coast, supporting about 1 million jobs and the livelihoods of 5 million people, according to the government.
