GAZA – Nearly 17,000 Palestinian children have been martyred in the Gaza Strip amid a genocidal war by the occupying Zionist forces since October 7, 2023, announced Ismail al-Thawebta, Director General of the Media Office in Gaza, on Sunday.
Al-Thawebta stated that “approximately 25,973 Palestinian children in Gaza will now be without one or both parents due to the aggression of the Zionist forces.” These children include 12,633 girls and 13,340 boys who are now orphans.
“The number of children martyred since the beginning of the war has reached 16,859, including 171 infants who died shortly after birth,” he added.
Almost all bombings by the Zionist occupation forces across various regions of the Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of children along with their families. The UNICEF has repeatedly warned that “many children in the Gaza Strip are unable to sleep and live their childhood due to the atrocities they have experienced during the war,” expressing concerns about their future if the Zionist aggression continues.
