G7 and EU Urge Immediate Gaza Ceasefire and Swift Humanitarian Relief

The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) countries, together with the European Union High Representative, underscored the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to ease the humanitarian suffering of civilians. The statement came during their meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The ministers highlighted the necessity of ensuring the large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave. They emphasized that halting the violence is critical to preventing further escalation and instability in the region.

The G7 ministers—representing Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States—also affirmed their readiness to work with Arab countries on initiatives aimed at rebuilding Gaza and supporting broader efforts to advance peace across the Middle East.
