Football : Colombia’s James Rodriguez joins Rayo Vallecano on free transfer

MADRID – Colombian international captain James Rodriguez has returned to LaLiga after signing with Rayo Vallecano on a free transfer, the Madrid club announced on Monday.
The 33-year-old attacking midfielder shone this summer at the Copa America, where he was named the tournament’s best player after leading his team to the final, which they lost 1-0 to Argentina.
Having previously played for AS Monaco and Real Madrid, James has 106 caps with Colombia and was awarded the top scorer trophy at the 2014 World Cup.
With Real Madrid, he won two Champions League titles and two LaLiga championships.
