Floods kill 10 people in Nepal

KATHMANDU – Ten people have died and seven others went missing as a result of flooding and landslides caused by continuous rain in Nepal on Saturday.
The victims are located in the districts of Kavrepalanchowk, Lalitpur, and Dhankuta, where homes have collapsed or been swept away by landslides following days of heavy rainfall.
“More than 175 cases of flooding and landslides have been reported since Friday, leading to human and material losses,” stated Dan Bahadur Karki, spokesperson for the Nepalese police.
“At least 400 people have been displaced due to the flooding and landslides. Most regions of the country, including Kathmandu, have been affected by heavy precipitation,” he told the press.
Many roads have been blocked due to the landslides, according to the same source.
