FIFA Unveils ‘Trionda,’ Official Ball of 2026 World Cup

FIFA on Thursday unveiled “Trionda,” the official ball of the 2026 World Cup, featuring enhanced grip, an embedded chip and design elements celebrating the three co-hosts: the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The ball, once again designed by German manufacturer Adidas, FIFA’s official supplier since the 1970 tournament, carries red, blue and green colors inspired by the first-ever World Cup to be staged in three countries, with 48 teams competing.
Symbols of each host nation – Canada’s maple leaves, Mexico’s eagle and the stars of the United States – are incorporated, along with a triangle representing the unity of the three hosts.
Deep seams are intended to provide “optimal flight stability,” while embossed icons improve grip in humid conditions.
A motion sensor chip will relay ball-tracking data to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.
The 2026 World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19, with the tournament draw scheduled for December 5 in Washington.
