English Premier League: Brighton Wins 2-1 Against Manchester United
BRIGHTON, England – The Brazilian João Pedro led Brighton to their second consecutive victory by defeating Manchester United 2-1 on Saturday, in the second round of the English Premier League.
“First I’m very happy for the win. I think this goal at the end shows how much we wanted to win the game, first game at home against a big team… I cannot feel better than today. I think the team did well,” Pedro said.
Brighton striker Danny Welbeck opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, but Amad Diallo equalised for United in the 60th minute before Pedro secured the three points for Brighton with a goal in the 90+5th minute.
With this win, Brighton has accumulated six points after their 3-0 victory over Everton in the first round, while Manchester United suffered their first defeat following their 1-0 win against Fulham.
