Bilateral Meeting Between Attaf and Araghchi in Istanbul

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held Sunday in Istanbul, Turkey, a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, on the sidelines of the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC), the ministry said in a statement.
The meeting discussed the latest developments surrounding the ongoing aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its impact on peace and security in the Middle East, the source said.
According to the statement, Minister Attaf reiterated Algeria’s position and reaffirmed its commitment—stemming from its role as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council—to promoting a political and peaceful approach based on the principles and provisions of international legitimacy and the United Nations Charter, with the aim of sparing the region further tensions and tragedies.
