Algeria’s Presidential Elections: Candidates Praise Smooth Voting

Representatives from the campaign offices of Algerian presidential candidates expressed their satisfaction on Saturday with the favorable conditions under which voting occurred nationwide.

Samir Aggoune, communication coordinator for independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s electoral campaign, stated that “the voting took place under good conditions, according to reports received by the monitoring and coordination unit at the national campaign office, allowing Algerian voters to freely select their next president.”

Meanwhile, Djamel Belloul, director of the electoral campaign for the Front of Socialist Forces (FFS) candidate Youcef Aouchiche, expressed satisfaction with the “smooth conduct” of the vote across the country, despite noting “a few isolated incidents” that did not affect the overall process.

Additionally, Ahmed Sadouk, campaign director for the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) candidate Abdelaali Hassani Cherif, remarked that the election generally unfolded in “a normal atmosphere characterized by a calm turnout from citizens,” despite “some isolated incidents at certain polling stations.”

He clarified that “these instances have been reported and brought to the attention of the Independent National Electoral Authority, so appropriate measures can be taken.”
