Algerian Minister of Finance Receives IMF Managing Director

Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzred received a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, on Wednesday evening in Algiers.

The meeting took place on the eve of the international economic conference organized by the IMF in partnership with the Bank of Algeria.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Acting Governor of the Bank of Algeria, Mouatassem Boudiaf, and several senior banking officials, Minister Bouzred reviewed the national achievements of recent years. He highlighted major economic indicators showing significant improvement, particularly in terms of growth and economic diversification.

For her part, Georgieva praised the performance of the Algerian economy, noting in particular the investments made by Algeria in recent years in infrastructure and human capital, which she stated “are beginning to bear fruit.”
