Ahmed Attaf, the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, conducted bilateral discussions on Friday in Antalya, Turkey, with foreign ministers from “friendly and brotherly” nations, along with officials from various international organizations, according to a statement issued by the ministry.

“Prior to the start of the 4th edition of the ‘Antalya Diplomaty Forum,’ Mr. Ahmed Attaf held talks on Friday morning in Antalya with Mr. Gordan Grlic Radman, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, and Mr. Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chad,” the statement indicated.

Mr. Attaf also met with “Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA); Karim Khan, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC); and Ms. Hanna Serwaa Tetteh, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).”

“The meeting between the Minister of State and his Croatian counterpart provided an opportunity to review the status of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and explore ways to enhance these relations, particularly in economic areas, in light of the planned bilateral events for this year,” the source added.

Discussions with the Chadian Foreign Minister served as “an occasion to assess bilateral cooperation between the two nations and discuss prospects for strengthening it, especially regarding upcoming bilateral events that both parties are working to realize.”

During his meeting with the UNRWA Commissioner-General, Minister Ahmed Attaf addressed the severe humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing aggression of the “Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and the resulting restrictions on UNRWA’s operations, as well as on general humanitarian relief efforts”.

In this context, “the Minister of State discussed with the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) the steps taken by this international court to pursue those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip.”

“Minister Ahmed Attaf exchanged views and analyses with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of UNSMIL regarding the latest developments in Libya and the prospects for reconciliation aimed at ending the division in this brotherly country under the auspices of the UN.”
