Algerian Diplomacy in 2024: Strengthened Deployment and Expanded Regional and International Role

ALGIERS – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf said Monday that 2024 was the year of strengthening the deployment of Algerian diplomacy and enhancing its role at regional and international levels.

Speaking at a press conference on Algerian diplomacy’s activities in 2024, Attaf noted that this year, which was drawing to a close, was mainly marked by “the resurgence and exacerbation of conflicts and wars in a tense context, unparalleled since the Cold War.”

“We were obliged to adapt to changes at regional and international levels, which comes at the behest of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in his address to the nation before the two houses of Parliament,” stressed the FM, affirming the continuation of efforts “to preserve the interests of our country and reinforce its role at Arab and African levels, in the Muslim world as well as in the Mediterranean region and beyond.”
