Algerian and Qatari Health Ministers Discuss Cooperation in Geneva

Algerian Minister of Health Abdelhak Saihi met with his Qatari counterpart, Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, on the sidelines of the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, as stated in a ministry announcement on Wednesday.
During their meeting on Tuesday, both ministers expressed pride in the strong bonds of fraternity and solidarity that exist between Algeria and Qatar, encompassing their leaders and citizens. They reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening these robust relations, particularly in the health sector.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially following the launch of the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital project, which is seen as a successful model of collaboration.
Additionally, discussions included “new avenues” for cooperation in hospital management and the exchange of expertise and knowledge among medical personnel. The Qatari delegation expressed interest in leveraging Algerian experience, particularly concerning the digitization of the health sector.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain coordination and consultation on future bilateral projects, aligning with the directives of their respective leaders to ultimately serve the best interests of their peoples, the statement concluded.
