
A terrorist surrendered to the military authorities of Bordj Badji Mokhtar and four terrorist supporters were arrested by Army detachments in different operations, over the period of September 10 to 16, the People National Army said Wednesday in a statement.
“As part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and multifaceted organised crime, units and detachments of the People’s National Army carried out several operations with excellent results between 10 and 16 September 2025, reflecting the high level of professionalism, vigilance and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory,” the statement said.
As part of the fight against terrorism and “as a result of the efforts of the People’s National Army units, a terrorist named Okbaoui Badi, alias Hamza, surrendered to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in the 6th Military Region, in possession of a Kalashnikov submachine gun, a Simonov semi-automatic rifle, a quantity of ammunition and other items. The terrorist had joined terrorist groups operating outside the country in 2016.”
Detachments of the People’s National Army also “arrested four individuals providing support to terrorist groups in various operations across the country.”
As part of the fight against organised crime and “as part- of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services, intercepted 60 drug traffickers in operations carried out across the military regions and foiled attempts to smuggle (into Algeria) 504 kg of cannabis through the Moroccan border, while 72 kilograms of cocaine and 372,407 psychotropic tablets were seized,” the statement said.
