Algeria Strengthens Cooperation with UNFPA to Support Youth Development

ALGIERS- Algerian Minister of Youth in charge of the Higher Council (CSJ), Mustapha Hidaoui, received on Tuesday in Algiers Head of the United Nations Population Fund in Algeria (UNFPA), Fiza Bendriss, said the Council in a Communiqué.
This meeting, which is part of “part of cooperation between Algeria and the United Nations System for 2023-2027, aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030,” allowed for “a review of the programs implemented in partnership between the two parties in recent years,” the source said.
It also provided an opportunity to “present the broad outlines of the strategy currently being developed by the youth sector,” the same source added.
In this regard, the minister stressed “the need to adopt a new approach in line with the new directions of the sector, in order to improve partnership programs aimed at strengthening the skills of young people, as the main driving force for sustainable development and a source of prosperity, peace, and security,” according to the source.
For her part, Bendriss praised “the new approach adopted by the youth sector in Algeria.”
“The strength of current and future ideas and programs in the sector will help strengthen cooperation and dialogue between the two parties,” the same source stressed.
