
Portugal’s Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel, has described the relationship between his country and Algeria as “excellent” and “special.” “I hope my visit to Algeria provides an opportunity to further enhance these ties,” said FM Rangel.
“I am honored to be received by the President of the Republic, and I am happy to visit Algeria, seizing this opportunity to foster bilateral ties, which are already excellent and special,” Rangel stated following an audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
In addition to the bilateral ties between Algeria and Portugal, countries that share common values, the Portuguese minister noted that he discussed prospects for future cooperation and the “very important” relationship between Algeria and the European Union (EU) with President Tebboune.
“I addressed international issues with the President of the Republic, notably the Middle East, conflicts in Africa, and the situation in the Sahel,” he continued.
Portugal’s Foreign Minister also highlighted the content of his “very thorough and detailed meeting” with Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs.
