
A high-level ministerial delegation paid a working visit to Bechar province on Tuesday to evaluate the preparations for the major event marking the launch of iron ore exploitation at Gara Djebilet, in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
This delegation is composed of the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Saïd Sayoud; the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui; the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab; the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal; and the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Houria Meddahi.
The delegation also includes the Director General of National Police (DGSN), Ali Badaoui, and the Director General of Civil Protection (DGPC), Colonel Boualem Bourelaf.
During the visit, the ministerial delegation, accompanied by local authorities, inspected several sites along the section of the railway line crossing the wilaya capital.
This visit is part of the preparations for the major event marking the official inauguration of this strategic mega railway project, intended to enhance the value of the Gara Djebilet iron ore deposit.
During his working and inspection visit to the province of Constantine at the end of November, the President of the Republic stated that he will “chair a historic ceremony on the occasion of the arrival, for the first time since independence, of iron extracted from the Gara Djebilet mine in the province of Bechar via the Tindouf–Béchar mining railway line”
