Algeria and Singapore Agree to Expand Bilateral Cooperation into Priority Sectors

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held a working session on Monday with Singapore’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, as part of his official visit to the Republic of Singapore, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The working session provided an in-depth and comprehensive evaluation of the current state of Algerian-Singaporean relations and explored opportunities to enhance and elevate them, the statement said, adding that this will be accomplished by making the best use of the promising partnership and cooperation opportunities arising from the complementary strengths and advantages of both countries.

In this regard, both parties commended the successful partnerships in port management and manufacturing, and agreed to broaden bilateral cooperation to cover priority sectors for both countries, including various industries, agriculture, digitalization, startups, urban management, and education and higher education, the source added.

Additionally, the two ministers exchanged insights and analyses on a range of international and regional issues of mutual interest, with particular focus on the latest developments regarding the Palestinian issue, the current situation in the Middle East, and recent events in the Sahel region.
