Algeria to Host 12th International Festival of Committed Cinema in December 2025
ALGIERS – The 12th Algiers International Film Festival (FICA) will be held from 4 to 10 December 2025 in Algiers, announced Wednesday the management of the festival.
Founded in 2009, under the name “Days of Committed Film,” this event quickly established itself as one of the most important film festivals in Algeria, presenting committed films from around the world.
The 11th edition of this festival, which took place in December 2022, was marked by the screening of 60 films, including 25 feature films, short films and documentaries, in official competition.
The festival had experienced three (3) Masters Classes themed “Documentary and fiction, uncertain borders,” “Cinema and environment” and the “Actor’s profession,” in addition to a tribute paid to the Palestinian foundation “Shashat for women’s cinema” which has been working since its creation in 2005 for the promotion and development of the young film sector of Palestinian women.
