Syria: UN Calls for Immediate Halt to Zionist Strikes in Golan Buffer Zone

The United Nations on Tuesday called for an immediate halt to strikes by the Zionist forces in the Golan buffer zone in southwestern Syria.
“It is deeply concerning to witness military strikes by Israel on Syrian territory. This must come to an end,” stated Geir Pedersen, the UN Special Envoy for Syria, during a press conference in Geneva.
The UN described these incursions into the Golan buffer zone as a “violation” of the disengagement agreement signed by Syria in 1974.
Both Jordan and Iran condemned the presence of Zionist military forces in the Golan buffer zone, characterizing it as a “flagrant violation” of international law.
