
The national military football team of Algeria has secured a spot in the finals of the African Military Games in Abuja, Nigeria, by defeating Equatorial Guinea 2-0 in Thursday’s semi-final of this second edition, as reported by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) on its official website.
Algeria’s two goals were scored by Mohamed Islam Belkhir and Marouane Benzid.
The team, led by goalkeeper Zakaria Bouhalfaya, will face Cameroon in the final on Saturday after Cameroon triumphed over Nigeria with a last-minute goal, winning 1-0.
The African Military Games (AMGA) serve as a premier sporting event held in Nigeria under the theme “Enhancing Military Cooperation through Sports.” This event brings together elite military athletes from approximately 25 African countries to demonstrate their skills, endurance, and teamwork across 19 different sports disciplines.
