Boughali Receives Vice Chairman of Russian Duma

ALGIERS – The speaker of the Algerian People’s National Assembly (lower house of Parliament), Brahim Boughali, received Wednesday, in Algiers, the vice chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vladislav Davankov, who is on an official visit to Algeria, the lower house said in a statement.

The two sides “broached the state and prospects of bilateral relations,” underlining “the need to strengthen and develop them to match the political will of the leaders of the two countries, as shown in the new declaration of deep strategic partnership between Algeria and Russia, which has provided a qualitative dimension to deep historical ties between the two countries.”

Boughali welcomed “the quality of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries” and “the common desire to enhance them,” citing “the mutual visits at the highest level.”

The strategic agreement will serve as a basis for the “development and strengthening of relations between the two countries in various fields, mainly the economic, academic and cultural areas.”

The two countries “have all the required resources to raise bilateral ties to a higher level, and go beyond the commercial aspect to mutually beneficial investment and partnership relations.”

The vice chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation expressed “his gratitude for the warm welcome he received, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution of November 1st.”

He added that his visit to Algeria, leading a parliamentary delegation, “shows the desire to promote and develop bilateral relations, through practical steps in the light of the prospects of the promising cooperation.”

Davankov stressed the importance of “enhancing the channels of consultation” and “intensifying the exchange of expertise and visits between the MPs of both countries.”
