Algeria’s Presidential Election : International Media Highlights Alignment of Campaigns with Public Expectations

International media outlets covering Algeria’s September 7 presidential election emphasized that the candidates’ programmes closely aligned with the concerns of citizens, particularly focusing on economic development, job creation, and securing two permanent African seats at the UN Security Council.

Sputnik news agency noted that experts found the programmes especially appealing to young voters. Asharq Al-Awsat reported that candidates prioritized issues of direct interest to Algerians, as reflected in polling data. Al-Quds Al-Arabi highlighted security threats that candidates warned about in their campaigns. The Egyptian newspaper Youm.7 featured independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s commitment to continue UN efforts until Palestine achieves full UN membership and justice for the crimes committed by the Zionist entity in Gaza.
