Arrest Warrant for Netanyahu: UK Drops Challenge to ICC Request

The new British government, led by Labour leader Keir Starmer, has decided not to pursue the plan initiated by the previous Conservative administration to challenge the request for an international arrest warrant against Prime Minister Netanyahu. This request, brought before the International Criminal Court (ICC), was announced by Downing Street on Friday.
This was a proposal by the previous government which was not submitted before the election, and which I can confirm the government will not be pursuing in line with our long-standing position that this is a matter for the court to decide,” a Starmer spokesperson said.
In May, ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan had requested international arrest warrants against Netanyahu and several other officials for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza Strip.
