Zionist entity continues violations, emboldened by world order recognizing force only, Says Bendjama

Algeria drew attention on Tuesday to the Zionist entity’s failure to comply with international law, violating the ceasefire agreement in Gaza daily and encouraging the expansion of its settlements in the occupied West Bank, taking advantage of a world order that “only recognizes force.” In the West Bank, “tens of thousands of Palestinians have been forcibly displaced, and more than 1,000 military operations have resulted in the arrest of more than 860 Palestinians, including at least 50 children. Terrorism by settlers has become a daily occurrence, with an average of five incidents per day during the current year,” said Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Amar Bendjama.
Speaking at a Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question, the diplomat pointed out that the Zionist occupier was flouting Security Council Resolution 2334, which prohibits it from continuing its settlement policy, since the occupier recently gave a “legal framework” to plans to build new settlements.
On Monday, Zionist forces “demolished two new buildings in Ramallah and East Al-Quds, and more than 1,000 demolitions have been recorded since October 2023. In the coming days, 100 Palestinian homes will be destroyed. This is not an anomaly, it is not a deviation, it is the routine of the occupation,” he insisted, deploring the Security Council’s silence on the matter.
Bendjama said that the Zionist entity was also violating, on a daily basis, the ceasefire in force since last October in the Gaza Strip, specifying that since the ceasefire came into effect, air strikes have been carried out in Gaza, killing at least 356 Palestinians, including women and at least 58 children, and injuring more than 1,000 others.
He also called on the guarantors of the ceasefire to assume their responsibilities and push the Zionist entity to “implement its commitments.” He drew attention to the fact that the Zionist entity was also violating the ceasefires concluded with Lebanon and Syria.
Bendjama also reiterated Algeria’s strong condemnation of the Zionist entity’s attack on the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Al-Quds.
He reiterated that Algeria will always stand by the Palestinian people and “will spare no effort to lift the injustice they suffer.” In this regard, the Algerian diplomat quoted a statement by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who maintained that “Algeria will remain faithful to its commitment to support our brothers and sisters in occupied Palestine. Algeria will spare no effort to defend their legitimate rights until their sovereignty is restored and a free and independent Palestinian state is established.”
