Zelenskyy Confirms Next Trilateral Peace Talks to Be Held in Switzerland

Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the next round of trilateral peace negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and United States will take place in Switzerland, which hosted the third round of talks on Feb. 17–18 in Geneva.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, Zelenskyy described the recent Geneva talks as “very important” for conveying the reality that the war is occurring in Europe, a fact he said is not always fully recognized. He emphasized that the negotiating team will return to Kyiv to hold a more open briefing on progress, led by Rustem Umerov.
Zelenskyy noted that progress on military issues has outpaced that on political matters, where differences persist among all three parties. He also highlighted Europe’s role in a potential post-ceasefire monitoring mission, stressing that European representatives should be involved.
The Ukrainian president reaffirmed the need for strong security guarantees to prevent renewed conflict and said territorial disputes cannot be resolved solely by negotiating teams. “Only at the level of leaders can we try to end this war… to solve the territorial questions, which are very sensitive and painful,” he said, citing mistrust of Russia as a key factor.
Zelenskyy added that the US, with possible European involvement, is discussing a “new document” between NATO and Russia, underscoring that Ukraine must not be excluded from those discussions.
