Xabi Alonso Kicks Off Real Madrid Era with Intense 11-Hour Workday

Spanish coach Xabi Alonso began his tenure as Real Madrid’s new head coach with a highly intense first day, spending 11 consecutive hours at the club’s training complex, Valdebebas.

On his official first day in charge of the senior squad, Alonso oversaw a training session and took part in a series of meetings to familiarize himself with all departments related to the team’s operations.

The former Real Madrid midfielder arrived at the club’s facilities at 7:30 a.m., well before the start of the training session, aiming to get a comprehensive overview of the team’s setup.

Alonso then led his first training session, which included 11 first-team players and 10 players from the youth academy. Among those present were Thibaut Courtois, Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Éder Militão, and Brahim Díaz. Midfielder Federico Valverde remained in the gym due to a sciatic nerve issue.

Meanwhile, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, Endrick, and Eduardo Camavinga continued their respective rehabilitation programs.

Xabi Alonso’s energy was on full display as he showed great enthusiasm during the training session, even taking part in some of the drills alongside the players.

After the session concluded at 11:00 a.m., the Spanish coach remained at the training center until 6:30 p.m., conducting additional meetings with his coaching staff to discuss strategic plans for the upcoming season.
