The wreckage of a Philippine Air Force F-50 fighter jet that disappeared during a tactical night mission was found on Mt. Kalatungan in Bukidnon province, the military confirmed Wednesday. Both pilots onboard were killed in the crash, according to The Manila Times.
Military officials located the jet at 11 a.m. local time, though details about its condition were not disclosed. An aerial reconnaissance team spotted two bodies near the site, Lt. Col. Salvacion Evangelista stated.
The aircraft went missing Tuesday during a night operation amid clashes between ground troops and the New People’s Army, a Maoist armed group, in Bukidnon.
