World Investment Conference: AAPI Highlights Opportunities in Algeria

The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, underscored the promising investment opportunities available in Algeria during his participation in the 28th edition of the World Investment Conference (WIC) held in Riyadh, according to a communiqué released by the agency on Wednesday.

The 28th WIC took place from November 25 to 27, bringing together stakeholders and investors from both public and private sectors across various countries, along with representatives from international organizations and entities focused on development, diversification, and investment promotion.

During the conference, Rekkache engaged in several meetings with officials from investment promotion agencies worldwide, facilitating discussions to “exchange expertise, promote Algeria as a prime investment destination, showcase the opportunities the country offers to investors, and explore avenues for international cooperation aimed at enhancing the performance and skills of the AAPI.”

Additionally, Rekkache held a working session with Ibrahim bin Yousef Al-Mubarek, the Saudi Deputy Minister of Investment, where they discussed “strategies to strengthen cooperation in encouraging and promoting investment, as well as the progress of Saudi investors’ projects in Algeria,” as stated in the communiqué.

This meeting concentrated on the terms of a cooperation agreement in the field of investment, which has been ratified by both parties, with a signing ceremony planned during upcoming joint events, the source added.

Furthermore, the General Assembly of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) convened, during which the ten member states of WAIPA for 2024 were announced, including Algeria.

Members also deliberated on and adopted WAIPA’s action plan for 2025, with Rekkache actively participating in the proceedings, the communiqué concluded.
