World Children’s Day : Algeria’s Commitment to Children’s Rights Highlighted

ALGIERS – Meriem Chorfi, the Algerian National Delegate for Child Protection, praised Algeria’s significant progress in advancing children’s rights, highlighting the country’s substantial achievements in this critical area. She emphasized Algeria’s continued efforts to enhance its legal framework and the protections it offers to its youngest citizens.

In a related statement, the National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) also reaffirmed Algeria’s “profound attachment” to international conventions safeguarding children’s rights. The council pointed out the country’s ongoing reforms to national laws, which are designed to ensure the comprehensive protection of children. These reforms include stricter sanctions against violence, enhanced measures to protect children from exploitation and forced labor, and a greater focus on creating a safer environment for every child in Algeria.

The commitment of both the National Delegate for Child Protection and the CNDH underscores Algeria’s dedication to improving the welfare of children and aligning with international standards to guarantee their rights and well-being.
