ALGIERS – Algeria is making very positive economic progress, with “telling figures,” the vice president of the World Bank (WB) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Ousmane Dione, said Saturday in Algiers, congratulating Algerian authorities on this progress.
“Algeria’s economic situation is good and sound (…) and it is important to congratulate the Algerian authorities for the results they have achieved (…),” Dione told the Algerian national radio Channel 3.
“It has to be said that since 2011, the Algerian economy has recorded a vigorous recovery.
“Algeria is making very positive progress… it should be congratulated on this progress and encouraged to continue moving forward.”
Backed up by figures, Mr Diaone cited “a growth rate of 3.9% to 4% per annum achieved by the Algerian economy after the Covid epidemic, growth that is now more stable and is continuing to improve.”
