Witkoff on Ukraine Talks in Geneva : Parties to Continue Work Toward Deal

Steve Witkoff, special envoy of Donald Trump, said Russian and Ukrainian delegations agreed to brief their respective leaders and continue efforts to reach a settlement following the first day of negotiations in Geneva.
In a statement posted on X, Witkoff said the United States moderated a third round of trilateral discussions involving Russia and Ukraine, noting that “both parties agreed to update their respective leaders and continue working towards a deal.” The talks are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
A new round of negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement is being held on 17–18 February in Geneva, with meetings taking place at the InterContinental Geneva Hotel, where representatives from the three countries are discussing possible frameworks for a political resolution.
