WHO Appeals for $1.5 Billion to Tackle Unprecedented Health Crises

The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched an urgent appeal for $1.5 billion to support life-saving health interventions worldwide in 2025. The funds are needed to address a global health crisis driven by escalating conflicts, climate change, pandemics, and displacement, with 305 million people expected to require humanitarian aid next year.
WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus highlighted that health emergencies are becoming increasingly interconnected, affecting the most vulnerable populations. The appeal focuses on providing essential health care, medical supplies, treating malnutrition, and supporting vaccination campaigns in conflict zones.
The WHO also emphasized that this appeal is a call for collective action, as the gap between global needs and available resources continues to widen. Supporting the WHO’s emergency response is seen as a critical investment in global health and equity.
