Venezuela and Russia Strengthen Ties with New Agreements on Defense and Energy

During a visit to Caracas by a senior Kremlin official, Venezuela and Russia signed a series of agreements on Thursday, focusing on intelligence, counter-espionage, and energy cooperation. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko met with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, offering support for Venezuela’s military with advanced weapons and equipment.

Chernyshenko also highlighted the expanded collaboration between the two nations in areas such as drone technology, petroleum exploration, and intelligence-sharing.

In a ceremony at the Miraflores Palace, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro emphasized the significance of the 17 agreements, stating they would “seal and strengthen the path of union and cooperation” between the two countries, aiming to solidify their partnership through 2030 and beyond.
