US Congress Praises Algeria’s Pioneering Role in Counterterrorism

Members of the US Congress have praised Algeria’s role and pioneering experience in the fight against terrorism, highlighting the “positive” nature of Algeria-US cooperation in this area.

Speaking during a hearing and debate on security in North Africa and the Sahel region, members of Congress emphasized that regional security and the fight against extremist groups “remain concrete and essential areas of bilateral partnership.” They “highly appreciated” Algeria’s role in counterterrorism, describing it as “effective” and “based on field expertise and accumulated experience.”

Furthermore, the Congress members indicated that Algeria serves as an “anchor of stability in North Africa and the Sahel region, drawing on its extensive historical experience in combating terrorism.”
