The US State Department has approved the possible sale of AIM-120C-8 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles and related equipment to the Netherlands, the Pentagon announced Tuesday. The deal is estimated at $570 million, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
In its statement, the agency said the proposed sale will enhance the Netherlands’ ability to address current and future threats by equipping its forces with modern and effective air-to-air munitions.
The principal contractor for the deal will be RTX Corporation, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.
