UNRWA Warns Gaza Families Face Death by Thirst as Water Systems Collapse

NEW YORK — The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has issued a dire warning that thousands of families in Gaza are at risk of dying from thirst, as water systems collapse under the weight of Is ongoing Zionist siege and bombardment.

“Only 40% of Gaza’s drinking water production facilities remain functional,” UNRWA reported in a statement posted on Facebook, citing widespread destruction, fuel shortages, and Zionist restrictions as the primary causes. With more than 100 days of fuel entry bans enforced by Zionist authorities, the agency said its capacity to deliver water has dropped to half the volume it managed during the previous ceasefire.

The agency detailed the crisis: water wells have ceased operation due to fuel depletion, many lie in areas too dangerous to reach, pipelines are ruptured and leaking, and water tankers frequently fail to arrive due to security risks.

UNRWA emphasized that without an immediate ceasefire and restoration of fuel supplies, the collapse of water infrastructure will result in mass dehydration, disease, and death among Gaza’s population.
