UNRWA Provides $6.6 Million in Cash Assistance to Palestinian Refugees in the West Bank

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Thursday that it continues to support refugee families forcibly displaced from northern West Bank camps or whose homes were damaged during recent Zionist aggression. The aid is distributed through the agency’s cash assistance program under the Relief and Social Services Program.

“Rental assistance is a lifeline for Palestine refugees who have been forcibly displaced from their homes,” said Roland Friedrich, Director of UNRWA Affairs in the West Bank. “Access to safe shelter is a human right and a basic need in emergencies.” He emphasized that the program goes beyond rental support, also offering direct cash assistance to families affected by violence so they can meet essential needs and live with dignity.

In July alone, UNRWA provided cash assistance to 7,647 families across various West Bank governorates, totaling nearly $6.6 million. The aid was distributed under two categories: rental assistance for families displaced from Jenin, Nur Shams, and Tulkarm camps, and compensation for property damage for families throughout the West Bank.
