UNRWA Loses All Contact with Gaza Staff Amid Total Communications Blackout

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced Thursday that it has lost all contact with its staff in Gaza, as the besieged enclave plunges into a total communications blackout following Zionist strikes on telecom infrastructure.
“We have lost all contact with our UNRWA colleagues in Gaza, communications have been cut off,” the agency posted on X. “This morning, for the first time in months, we did not receive their morning messages to say, ‘good morning’ and ‘we are fine/alive’.” The agency expressed growing concern for the safety of humanitarian workers and warned of the severe impact repeated blackouts are having on life-saving operations.
According to the Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Zionist bombardments targeted critical telecom infrastructure, collapsing internet and phone services across the Strip. The authority stated that attempts to restore connectivity have repeatedly failed due to the Zionist entity’s systematic targeting of communications facilities. Central and southern Gaza have now joined Gaza City and the north in a complete blackout for a second straight day.
Since the start of Zionist aggression in October 2023, over 55,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed. Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the Zionist forces continue the aggression, further isolating the territory and deepening the humanitarian crisis.
