UNGA High-Level Segment: Algeria’s FM Attaf Holds Bilateral Talks in New York

Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held a series of bilateral meetings Thursday in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s high-level segment, the Foreign Ministry said.
Attaf met with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Bin Hamad Albusaidi, Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, and US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, the statement added.
Talks with his Omani counterpart reviewed progress in strengthening ties of fraternity and partnership between the two countries, underscored by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s state visit to Oman in October 2024 and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s visit to Algeria in May 2025.
With Croatia, discussions focused on boosting cooperation, particularly in investment, energy, trade, shipbuilding and infrastructure.
Talks with Switzerland covered prospects for deeper political dialogue and economic cooperation, as well as views on current regional and international issues.
With the US official, Attaf discussed ways to elevate Algeria-US relations through enhanced strategic dialogue and expanded economic partnership, the ministry said.
