UN Warns of Worsening Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza Amid 11-Day Aid Blockade

The United Nations has raised alarms over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, as no aid has entered the enclave for the past 11 days. The UN warned on Wednesday that the progress made during the first six weeks of the ceasefire has been reversed, exacerbating the crisis across the territory.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric highlighted the growing difficulties in accessing essential food, water, and medical services, particularly in northern Gaza, where only 16% of health service points remain operational. The lack of solid waste management has further worsened conditions, with overflowing trash creating severe health risks. Mine clearance teams have also reported increased dangers from unexploded ordnance, which has already resulted in casualties.
Despite some progress in education, with over 630 temporary learning spaces supporting more than 170,000 children, the UN noted that significant challenges persist. While 60% of school-age children in Gaza now have access to some form of learning, the Zionist entity has not allowed the entry of necessary educational supplies or equipment. The ongoing blockade continues to strain efforts to provide basic humanitarian relief.
