UN Warns of Total Food System Collapse in Gaza as Famine Deepens

NEW YORK – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) issued a stark warning on Monday, declaring that Gaza’s food system has completely collapsed amid a deepening famine and ongoing Zionist siege.

In a statement posted on the UN’s official website, OCHA said that the continued obstruction of humanitarian aid is resulting in the avoidable deaths of countless civilians. It noted that desperate families are risking their lives daily to search for food, with acute malnutrition rates among children having doubled. Infant formula supplies are reportedly nearing total depletion.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed deep concern over the escalating humanitarian catastrophe, reiterating his call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire.
