UN Warns of Accelerating Zionist Annexation of West Bank, Violating International Law

The United Nations Office for Human Rights has raised alarms over the accelerating efforts by the Zionist occupation to solidify its annexation of the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The UN warns that the Zionist entity’s actions—such as seizing Palestinian land and replacing Palestinian communities with settlers—are blatant violations of international law.
In its statement, the UN office referenced the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice in July, which declared that the Zionist entity’s presence in the occupied Palestinian territories is illegal and must end immediately. The UN also called for the immediate evacuation of all Zionist settlements in the West Bank.
The office expressed “grave concern” over recent developments, including mass demolitions of Palestinian homes and buildings in East Jerusalem, as well as unprecedented destruction in a protected nature reserve in Area B, under Palestinian Authority control.
Zionist occupation forces carried out demolitions of Palestinian properties in East Jerusalem and Hebron on Monday, citing the lack of building permits. However, the UN pointed out that the Zionist entity’s discriminatory planning laws make it nearly impossible for Palestinians to obtain these permits.
The Zionist occupation continues to escalate its actions across the occupied territories, including the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem. Numerous UN and international bodies have recognized these actions as violations that demand accountability, urging that perpetrators be prosecuted at the International Court of Justice.
Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist occupation has been carrying out devastating assaults on the Gaza Strip, resulting in 45,097 martyrs, mostly women and children, and over 107,244 injuries. The toll is still rising, with many victims trapped under rubble or on the streets, unable to be reached by rescue teams.
